that "Medium Cool" is, was and always will be the most
important
film to come out of the Untied States of America, [ever!]
I've created this webpage to back myself up as I begin
insisting to friends who think they'll be making
documentaries, news or fictions that:
You must watch this movie at least 1,000 times
before you get out there and work!
Yes, it's fine to believe that you can change the world,
but first you must be sure you're equipped to

Until this site has evolved some,
the rest of this will be more or less a "page o' links."
Here's a tiny bit of trivia for you,
Did you know that Studs Terkel acted in this movie? Guess who else?

With this 1968 film,
famed cinematographer Haskell Wexler lucked
out. While planning it, he
decided to use the 1968 Democratic
convention in Chicago as a backdrop for
part of his drama, and wound up with striking
footage of some of the era's most memorable
rioting. With not much narrative here;
rather than paying attention to plot, Wexler
allows the viewer to follow a TV cameraman
played by Robert Forster on the job as well as off.
Hence, the picture is more a collection of striking fragments than a
cohesive whole. The scene clipped here is among the entertaining
curiosities on hand: In it, an unknown group of musicians mime
along with a track by the Mothers of Invention. How psychedelic.
