Obituary courtesy of Frances L. Frasier:
Evan T. Woodruff was born at Cleveland, Oregon, September 18, 1857, and died March 28, 1910. He was the youngest son of the late A. H. Woodruff and wife, who crossed the plains in 1854 and settled on a donation land claim at Cleveland. It was here that the subject of this sketch was born and grew to manhood and after completing his education in the Wilbur Academy, Willamette university, and Heald's business college, he spent a few months in teaching in the public schools of this county, but as he preferred farm life he returned home on May 15, 1884, was married to Susie W. Clinkinbeard. Four children were born to this union, three of which are living. They are Alfred M. and Lois, who reside at Cleveland, and Mrs. Mabel Krohn, of Portland. Thus at the end of 52 years, six months and ten days, he passes away on the same farm where he was born, it being his home for more than half a century.
Mr. Woodruff was a man possessed of an irreproachable character, was public spirited, always ready to lend a helping hand to the needy or distressed; he was an ardent supporter of all educational work and took great pride in the school of his home district. It can well be said of him that he was one of Oregon's native sons of whom we can be proud, and who left this world better by having lived in it. He was a loving husband, an affectionate father, a kind neighbor and a loyal citizen. Let us forget his faults, if any, and imitate as near as possible his virtues.
He was buried in the Cleveland cemetery, March 30, 1910. The funeral services were conducted under the auspices of the Christian Science church, of which he had been an honored member for about six years. The services at the grave were conducted by the Woodmen of the world of which order he was also a member.

Marriage Notice courtesy of Frances L. Frasier:
Woodruff - Clinkenbeard - At Marshfield, Oregon, by Rev. G. W. Black, on May 15th, 1883, Mr. E. T. Woodruff, of Douglas county and Miss Susie W. Clinkenbeard, of Coos county.
It is with pleasure we extend to this happy couple our most hearty congratulations. Almost from infancy we have known each of them, and have learned to admire them for their many virtues and for those characteristicts which make the true man or woman. We bespeak for them a life of unalloyed happiness, and pray the guarian angels of peace to keep them from trouble and unhappiness. That they may live long to enjoy each others pleasant society, love and companionship, is our earnest wish.
