1) Notes on Thomas Robison from Books of Robison by Jean Mosher Robison.
Thomas Robison, fourth son of John and Mary (Baker) Robison married 20 December 1868 Brazil, Clay County, Indiana Martha Jane Shattuck. Martha was born 10 March 1849 in Williamstown and moved to Brazil when she was six years old. She died 1 May 1883.
Thomas was fourteen years old when his parents moved to Indiana. He attended the early schools of Dick Johnson Township. About the year of 1870 he moved to Vigo County and bought a farm of eighty acres. He ramained there until 1895 when he left the farm to live with his children. He served two years and eight months in the Civil War. He participated in much hard service during that time. Thomas and Martha Jane were members of the Christian Church and were the parents of three children.
2) Further info from Books of Robison: Thomas Robison born 11 March 1840 gave a deposition to help his brother Pierson's widow obtain her pension through the Civil War service of her husband. He stated that Elizabeth was indeed the widow of Pierson. At that time Thomas was seventy two years old. He gave his address as Staunton, Indiana, Rt. #1. This deposition was dated 3 February 1913. When his brother Joseph died Thomas was the informant. He gave his address at that time as Brazil, Indiana.
Thomas served as a Sergeant in Co. F 149th Regt., Indiana Infantry Volunteers. He also served in Co. G 78th Regt., Indiana Infantry Volunteers, the 16th Regt. Ind. Inf. Vol. Co. G, and Co. D 116th Regt. Ind. Inf. Vol. Prisoner of war records showed that Thomas was taken prisoner at Mumfordsville, Kentucky, 17 September 1862, was paroled and finally honorably discharged at Nashville, Tennesssee 27 September 1865. He applied for a pension 23 May 1912. He stated that he was seventy two years of age and resided at Staunton, Clay County, Indiana. He stated that his wife died 1 May 1883. Thomas died 29 July 1915.
According to Pam Cassiday, Thomas and wife Martha Shattuck lived in Vigo County, Indiana.
