According to land records recorded at the Bedford County Courthouse, in the late 1760's when John Coomb applied for his land on the Big Tonoloway Creek in Ayr Township, Cumberland (now Fulton) County, Pennsylvania, Coombs land adjoined the heirs of William Linn. At about the same time it was found that the widow of William Linn was paying taxes on the land. Her name appears on tax records as "Widow Jane Linn". Reference the Bethel Township Tax Records of 1773 and John Coombs land application at the Land Office in Harrisburg, PA.
According to the Bedford County Will Book #21 page 265, Jane died in 1783 and left five children, Addis, Mary Brown, Isaac, Thomas and Levi. Her property crossed the State Line and was situated in both Bedford County, PA and Washington County, MD.
