From the notes of Jack Stockman:
The following was attributed to the Maryland Calendar of Wills, 1753-1760, Vol. II:
"Linn, Daniel, Frederick Co., will dated 30 Jan 1759; will proved 3 Jul 1759. Friend: Mary Arsheraft (Ashcraft). Sisters: Jane Wright, Sarah Hayes and A. Elizabeth Thompson. Extr. Thomas Cheney; Wit: Andrew Blair (Blain), Barnett Johnson, Edmond Moran. 30.726 (p. 244)."
The name Mary Ashercraft suggests that this Daniel was a member of our Linn family, for the reason that Mary Ashercraft (b. c.1712) & her husband Peter Johnson (b. c. 1707) were the parents of Mary Ashercraft Johnson (b. c.1737) who married Col. Andrew Linn Jr., son of Andrew Linn and nephew of William Linn. It would seem likely that Daniel was one of the brothers of Andrew and William.
Another entry attributed to the Maryland Calendar of Wills is the following:
"Hussin, Robert, Frederic C.., 2 Aug 1755, William Copeland, age 65, states that about 18 months ago he was in company with Robert Hussin and heard him state that when he died, he would give all that he had to Sarah Linn, daughter of David Linn, and he, the said Copeland, declared that he has often heard that said Hussin repeat the same words. Before John Rawlins (p. 103)."
The identification of this David Linn of Frederick Co., Maryland, intriguingly compares with the Judge David Lynn of Frederick Co., Maryland, whom we believe may well be a brother of Andrew and William Linn by opening the likelihood that they are one and the same person. This, and the Mary Ashercraft mentioned above further ties the Frederick Co. Linn/Lynns to our Andrew and William Linn.
If these entries do, in fact, identify the brothers and sisters of our Andrew and William Linn, then the family of Mr. & Mrs Linn, who came from Northern Ireland in 1701, would appear to be as follows:
1. David Linn/Lynn, the Honourable Judge: b. c.1698.
a. Sarah Linn/Lynn: b. c.1728
2. Andrew Linn: b. 1700
3. William Linn: b. c.1702
4. Daniel Linn: b. c.1704
5. Jzane Linn: m. Mr. Wright
6. Sarah Linn: m. Mr. Hays
7. A. Elizabeth Linn: m. Mr. Thompson
