According to the Bible Records of Mrs. John Thomas Perry of Lexington, KY, William's birthday was Oct 10, 1761 and he died in 1823.
It appears William's will was dated Oct. 29, 1840 and proved Oct 28, 1844.
From "The Trans-Appalachia Frontier" by Malcolm J. Rohrbaugh, Oxford University Press, Page 35:
"William Clinkinbeard immigrated to Ky. with his father in 1780. It was a ragged procession, he explaines ... the Clinkinbeard's settled at Strode's Station (Ky.) north of Boonesboro, where they sought safety and land.
"Like other early farmers in Ky., Clinkinbeard Trapped, selling the meat and skins. He bought a set of trenchers from Enos Terry, of Strode's Station, of whom he commented:
"He turns dishes and bowls ad being no hunter exchanged them for meat and tallow to us hunters."
