1970 Malibu Chevelle

I bought this car in 1993 after it sat underneath a tree for 2 years. I am still working on it, trying to restore it with an eye toward stock originality. I've changed a few things, however, such as the original front drum brakes.

According to the build sheet, this car rolled off the line in Long Beach, CA on Bastille day, 7/14/70.

Notable tasks completed:

• Complete dashboard removal and resto from firewall out.
• New body mount bushings from Year One
• '78 F-Body (Trans-Am) front disc brakes
• New GM door hinges
• Complete molding and weatherstripping replacement from Soff-Seal
• 1.25" front and .875" rear anti-sway bars
• Original rims, dog-dish hubcaps and beauty rings
• Working NOS dashboard clock
• Poly-Urethane bushings all around provided by Performance Suspension Technology
• Various replacement wiring from M&H Electric Fabricators
• Original-style forest green interior from PUI by way of Year One, installed by Dick's Auto Trim Shop.
• Re-painted with DuPont YM-158, close to the original Green Mist Iridescent
• Replaced original 250hp 350cid with stock 300hp 350cid setup machined by Tri-Valley Machine
• California Emissions legal with working EEC, TCS and ThermaVac systems
• Replaced the Turbo 350 Transmission with a T700R4 overdrive unit from Autorite.
• Found a nearly perfect but slightly rusty rear bumper at a yard. Stockton Plating replated it and did a great job, it's absolutely perfect.

Folks, there are some real idiots out there, so be smart.
