Call me pathetic, call me what you will, I only realized who stupid the pledge was this year thanks to amazing inspirations. They forced me too remove all the "vulgar" clothing I was wearing, which includes band tees and all my chains. I wouldn't have done so if my mom wasn't so annoying about "being correct." I would leave, but I'm like really quite young to leave. Music teacher got fucking pissed at me the first time I didn't stand and called me over after class. What the fuck happened to freedom? I really hate the world and what it's become. The only time I'm ever free of all the shit is when I'm just in a different town, where nobody cares.

well sure, but we're talking about the present situation.

note that there was a (probably unintentional) shift of equivocation with use of the word 'better', above. i used 'better' to mean that private schools were allegedly less engaged in brainwashing students to accept ruling-class ideology (an allegation i then rejected). jawn used 'better' to mean a superior education in general. i went along with the shift because his point raises mine again anyway.

also worth noting is that, afaik, public/private mean the exact opposite in e.g the uk.

I'd like to point out that 'private school' refers to any school that is not part of the public school system. If one were to set up an anarchist free school, it would technically be a private school.

I went to a canadian public school and then I graduated from the international school of geneva. private schools are better. holy fuck are they better. they are elitist but they are better, as in, the calibre of my education was mind-fuckingly better at the private international school, and my canadian public school's gym was built by pepsi and we weren't allowed to leave the school building.

and what was it about you that entitled you to something 'better'?

what did you think I meant by "mold you in to a good little machine for the state"? The educational system was designed to create good little producers with no thought as to weather or not what they are being told is worth while to anyone other than those who control the state (elite capitalists)

I'd stay stand up in opposition, be willing to be suspended, go to school council meetings in protest, make it such absolute hell for them that they either start to bend or kick you out and then you can go to a new school and begin the process anew. It's important to recognize that the purpose of state schools (and many private ones) is to beat the individual out of you and mold you in to a good little machine for the state. Show up every day just as you would like, make it as much of a pain in the ass for them to enforce their bullshit rules on you as possible. Don't back down to their threats, as long as you aren't carrying knives, guns or drugs or threatening anyone's life they can't do much to you legally, except expel you which would be to your credit rather than detriment. When you have exhausted all of the schools in your area, switch to a home schooling program. If your physical ed teacher is insisting that your hair is a danger, make him prove it and/or give you an alternative for potential credit. He can't force you to fail his class because he hates your hair style.

ahh, yes.

i just asked my friend to buzz my hair, and give him clippers and a guard. he put the guard down, buzzed one side of my head, then asked me to check it in the mirror. i was aghast.

but yeah, it's pretty rad. chavs are v intimidated by it too, which is kind of fun.

Some of my friends gave me a mohawk when I was passed out and they were all completely drunk. Needless to say, it turned out pretty good.
