Flag's brush with fire

Postby Canteloupe » Wed Jun 25, 2008 9:27 pm

Flag resides in the mountains of northern California. Forest fires have been breaking out in the region lately and one cut fairly close to flag's demesne. Here's a view of one such fire.

In that period flag was occasionally offline. Part of that was due to an upgrade to the latest freebsd operating system.

So, to recap, that was a total of two hair-raising events in one week.

Thanks for looking after flag, Pom!

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed — and hence clamorous to be led to safety — by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. — H.L. Mencken

Be safe, Pom. If those fires are the ones I'm thinking of I heard they won't be put out for at least 2 weeks. Pretty wicked stuff up there.
