I am a hat that falls down the stairs.
When I was young I got married
Married to life itself, and the stars abounded
and everything was beautiful, and love filled the earth.
One day the world became sallow, and the people saw no more
The rocks became bare, the moss dry and brown
From beyond the mountains a saddened knight did arrive
Carrying a bouquet of wilted flowers.
Across the land, all the priests wept
Far away, the crows flew afar,
looking for their lost king
The demons lay in the shadows, waiting for the sun to set
and that afternoon she left me, suitcase in her hand
I walked across the plains of abraham, humming softly to the wind
Bees passed solemnly, too worried to look for honey
Clouds gathered overhead, and the bridge I did find to be closed
Despair enveloping, I screamed against the blaze,
my broken body collapsing against the wall.
I am a hat that falls down the stairs.
