An actually respectable poem

Postby Zazaban » Thu Sep 17, 2009 12:08 pm

To make up for the shit I just posted, I wrote this.

I don't have anyone else
I don't think that's special
I don't want to whine,
I don't splutter,
I don't don't see a cloud in the sky

For all the times I see the people smile
I just walk on and grimace
Oh the tears! I cry
For it's all not real

If the goblet were half empty
I'd drink it up;
If the sun were not shining
I'd light it up anew;
If the grass did not grow
I'd whistle a merry song and forget they ever did

For I am not like you, you see
I am different
Like a bird in the sky
Or a bee in a bed of flowers
I am different, you see,
I don't have anyone else

I can't decide if this is about actual loneliness as that which is felt by a forgotten lover having recently torn back the veil of a shadow they thought to be love or if it is an expression of the existential loneliness felt by all minds unfettered by the distraction of the day to day. Either way, I can relate to it and I like it.
