why is it more acceptable to say someone has "beautiful hair"; then it is to say someone has "cute tits" or a "handsome cock"?

It has to do with the fear of sex. OK that may be a little to obvious. There is a fear of objectifing, and I think there is also a fear of men, as those are the people who are most likely to say it. Homophobia plays into that as well. Religions have better control of people when sex is confined to a monogomous relationships, so they make and reinforce the rules that condem people to play outside of marraige.

MF, to people in general. Most people won't react negatively to being told they have nice hair, but are more likely to react negatively if they were to be complimented on there "private" parts.

and Tedster, I relize that it has to do with sex. People associate asses, breast, cocks and vaginas with sex. But why do people accept that others can view there hair or eyes or face as attractive in a non-sexual context but it's so beyond the pale that someone would find an ass to be "beautiful" and not just sexually arousing?

Most people don't go round with their cocks or tits on public display

Let's also differentiate between 'nice tits' and 'nice cock'.
Heteromacho men yell 'nice tits' at women in a display of entitlement and often, aggression. Few people yell nice cock at strangers, though they do I'm sure in bed and occasionally at gay men's clubs. That isn't to say that as a 'woman' I'm offended by anyone making a comment like that ever, its just not welcome if it doesn't come from a friend or a lover who knows me well enough to know how I'll take it or has grounds to believe that I'll tell them it makes me uncomfortable.
As for the idea of beauty, I too wonder why people don't compliment each other in non-cliche ways.

Erm, for the record I have had females say "nice package" when I'm in swimtrunks. I did not feel offended. :P

Oh yeah, I forgot that those hordes of women who saw you in your swim trunks were creepy, yelled at you if you looked unimpressed by them, and had the potential to further harass you. Or wait, is it simply that thats an example totally incomparable to what women experience/put up with? Hmmm....
The fact is that women deal with unwanted sexual attention on a daily basis, not just when we're in our swim trunks. We get so many announcements about our asses and tits that we can't even count them. We get followed by frat boys walking in packs. I've even gotten comments while walking with my mum. Somehow I didn't take them as a well intentioned earnest compliment...

I once had a female coworker tell me she was tired of having men stare at her breast implants. Yes, this really happened.

So stop staring at her breast implants. What's not to understand?

Heterosexual women get breast implants, make themselves up, wear low cut shirts and short shirts, because they like sexual attention.

I know that there are a certain percentage of lesbians who hate this fact, but it is reality. I also know other lesbians who are open minded, and don't hate people just for having hetero sexual urges.

But the fact remains, most women long for men to find them sexually attractive. Get over it.
