A Grand Unified Theory of the Humanities

Postby Anarchological » Tue Apr 27, 2010 4:56 am

Confucius said that all of human ethics could be expressed in one word, reciprocity, which evolved into the Golden Rule. If all of ethics can be expressed in one word, perhaps a Grand Unified Theory of The Humanities can be expressed in five words:

GRAND UNIFIED THEORY OF THE HUMANITIES:

"Institutionalized Hierarchies Suck, Reciprocity Rocks."

Reciprocity basically means solidarity, correct?

Jeez, I thought it would be easy to just copy something from dictionary.com, but I didn't think their meaning was that clear, so I went to reciprocal, and that didn't help much, so, IMHO reciproceity means fair exchange, what's sauce for the goose i8s sauce for the gander. If I treat you right, you might reciprocate by treating me right. Actualy, I should have looked up "reciprocate".
