Should Anarchist be concerned with finding Moral Truths

Postby hawkins21 » Wed Nov 03, 2010 2:37 pm

I know what you are thinking. I am very aware that Anarchism is in the realm of Political Philosophy but in order to improve the human condition I believe it will start with Morality.

Making a transition from a capitalistic and democratic society into an anarcho-syndicalist one is already an improvement in the human condition. The main difference between the two is the moral language at play here (I'm not suggesting this is the only difference). this is similar to the moral language between Republicans and Democrats.

When we are speaking of morality we are generally speaking about trying to maximize the well-being of conscious creatures and decrease the suffering of conscious creatures. This is essentially the essence of the human condition and what anarchism is concerned about.

Most anarchist that I have come into contact with tend not to be concerned with morality since they believe that it has nothing to do with political philosophy. Also because they believe what Nietzsche says about no objective truth in the world. Everything to them is subjective and that we have no right to tell one how to live...This is totally disagree with

But still the question remains should anarchist be more concerned with trying to find moral truths in order to improve the human condition?
