I just deleted some spam from http://flag.blackened.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70280, http://flag.blackened.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1255&start=1005, and http://flag.blackened.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=70478. It's a bunch of random sentences, mostly pornographic, and links to shit they're trying to sell.

considering that a fair deal of the links I've looked at are to sites that don't really exsist... I don't think there trying to sell shit... I think it's just some kiddy getting kicks....

I saw another Anarchist forum where they delete a lot of non-spam posts, and people do still frequent the forum, but I'm sure all the intelligent people are leaving.

It is an unfortunate byproduct of Capitalism that people have computer programs which broadcast spam to thousands of forums. Until we break free from Capitalism, which I believe will be within the next ten years, we'll have to accept deletion of lesbian porn.

I do hope however that non of the moderators would delete anything which is posted by a person that in the wildest stretch can be considered on topic. When there is the slightest doubt, it should not be deleted.

Deletion is controlled thought. It is a very dangerous thing. It can very easily kill a forum and quickly. Sure idiots would still frequent it, but when idiots are the only ones there, you might as well call the forum dead.

Capitalism controls the thought process as well, producing spam, preventing innovation, etc. That is why we don't like Capitalism.

I came up with a plan, which I believe might be the window of opportunity we need to bring the new system into power, and I posted it on another Anarchist forum, and it got deleted. Hows that for controlled though? One spark of hope extinguished just like that. Not to worry though I posted it here to.

I like the idea of deleted stuff being put in a publicly viewable section, but only if it is done by the software and not by the moderators. If it is done by the moderators, we might as well trust the moderators to just delete it. With multiple moderators, if one is a government spy who seeks to control our thinking... or just an idiot who seeks to control our thinking... Like I said, it really sucks that Capitalism makes it necessary.

Heh, the mods are never here, and spam is largely prevented by the image feature when you sign up (well, assuming it's on). We did resort to making registering mandtory for posting in most forums, but that is only common sense, and it hardly results in anything authoritarian by any stretch of the imagination.

The only thing that they'll delete here are bomb threats or other "terrorist sounding" stuff. It's unfortunate, but is an acceptable policy, imho. Since that kind of talk is mostly BS anyway (such as a racist skinhead would spout to sound big), it shouldn't matter.

Almost anything here goes, whether some posters here like it or not. The mods (or lackthereof) make it a decent place to be, until we have a system where mods are unnecessary.

He seems harmless, and is a good laugh. I don't think he's an agent, agents would at least try to blend in.

akin to what was just said, you can't block people in real life. you have to deal with the situation.
