PUNK PUNK PUNK

Postby godfuc » Mon Mar 11, 2002 8:14 am

I think punk is the music that best describes my personallity. I like other kinds of music, but punk kicks arse. I hate that some punk bands are so good that they end up being commercialized without being able to stop it. I now see people listening to NOFX, Kennedy's, Rancid, wearing GAP. Green Day was once a really good band, til they got popular. Punk is the basis of anti-conformity. I hate the shit people call punk today, What the hell is P.O.D.? Godsmack is NOT punk. These are bands that are making music simply to make money, that is not what punk is about, that is what punk is against. Please is you see someone listening to punk wearing Gap, Tommy, ect. please point out to them that they are IDIOTS! Go buy a freek'in Backstreet albulm! Also if you are in the ABQ. NM area March 23rd, Floggin Molly is in town.
If there is a hell, I will see you there.

Flogging Molly is not a part of the anarcho-punk movement. Go get an lp by Axiom instead.

"What the hell is P.O.D.?"

P.O.D. is actually Christian rock, about as far from punk as you could get!

punk music has nothing to do with the sound, but with the band's attitude! DK has not a punk attitude, neither Rancid! I like both bands, but they are not punk! DK influenced various punk bands, but they're not a punk band! Rancid, is not also a punk band! Although many people consider them as if they are! They're at the same level as Blink182, Offspring, Pennywise, Down By Law, etc... A punk from Ptgal, said once: "It's punk! But it's punk la-la-la!" Well, I don't believe in it. IT'S NOT PUNK.

Let's see; Christians believe that though living your life thinking someone died for your sins you will go to this wonderful "heaven", as does the rasta religion. They also believe that if you don't follow this, and admit that this person died for you then you will go to a "hell", as does the rasta religion. The basis of the religious idea is the same, yes exact details are different. "Budda" did not call himself a masiaya he is simply looked at as a man that did a great amount of "soul searching". Jah, and Jesus, both claimed to be masiaya, direct decendents of God. Budda also belived in ressurection, Rasta and Christian feel that thier masiaya would have died in vain if ressurection was true. Rasta followers have less rules set by Jah than Christians by Jesus. Unless the interpritations I recieved of the rasta religion from a rastafarian are incorrect, the two religions are very similar.

There are different christianism. This thing about ''Jesus saves'' isn't generalised. For catholics, living a good live like Jesus (or at least to try it honestly) is the key for heavens, not only believing that he once saved humanity. In fact, during all my catholic education, teachers never insisted on the fact that he saved humanity, but more on the fact that he showed a way to be a good man or woman.

You mean to tell me that all your chatholic education never once taught you that Jesus died for your sins. I don't believe you.

They told me he died for our sins, but they did not insist on it. They insisted on what he did in his life and why it was good, rather then repeating ad nauseam that Jesus saves.

Anyway, everyone is able to die. It is easy. It is much more difficult to be a good human being.
