The Greek Anarchists and Counter Insurgency

Postby coup-detat » Tue Dec 08, 2009 8:26 am

Sunday marked the first year anniversary of the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos, a 15 year old Greek Anti-Authoritarian, by Greek Police. Sunday also marked the start of some brutal riots in his honor. The riots are continuing.

Occupied London did a fantastic article on Counterinsurgency and linked it to these new riots.

On one of the mainstream boards I frequent they were going on about how this was a disproportionate response to what happened and that they should have gone through the state channels to register their grievances like good liberals. Also the greek police are totally not repressive and the government isn't corrupt

Good article. Hope the pigs don't quell the movement before it gains serious momentum :(

It seems to me like its starting to snowball fast. Lots of European Anarchists are going to Greece to help out.
