Saturday evening the bus of the FAU-IWA union from
Germany was brutally raided by a special police force as it was just about to leave Gothenburg.

The incident occured at 9 p.m. when the 50 German anarcho-syndicalists who took part in Saturdays demonstration, were
about to enter their bus. All over sudden five Chevrolet transporters driving high speed blocked the bus at Linneplatsen. From the cars a storm troop of some 20 black-masked riot cops sorrounded the anarcho-syndicalists and forced them to enter the bus, beating some of them.

One minute later they changed their minds and told the people to leave the bus by the backside door while the cops entered the bus by the front door, agresively pushing the people out
of the bus. The demonstrators where forced to sit down in front of the bus, the cops sorrounding them. People who moved or tried to use a handy were beaten with telescope clubs.

The cops were extremly nervous and agresive. In any moment they held their clubs in one hand, while keeping the other on their guns pockets. While its not our task to be pity with the police, some of them had obviously started their "workday" with injuries, one of them with a broken nose.

The demonstrators tried to calm down the cops, because it was not predictable that, as mentaly unstable as they obviously apeared one of them would draw a gun. The cops were told
that the people in the bus are syndicalists that entered Sweden earlier that day and had already been comprehensively controlled at the border. They were told to check this. They actually did, it took them quite a long time, bearing the impression, that there was actually no coordination between the border police and those in Gothenborg.

Finally they seemed to be convinced that the people from FAU-IWA are no "terrorist crowd" and told the bus to leave Gothenburg. Later at night we heard, that a french camera team documented the situation and that it was transmitted in French TV.

From what we have seen in police brutality and incompetence that saturday in Gothenburg we would suggest the Swedish authorities not to organise an international congress bearing more conflict potential than an for example an international table tennis tournament in the next few years.
