I have tons of Jewish friends, a Jewish ex, a Jewish boss. It's to be expected because I live in Montreal. Before I moved here, I had never even met a Jew, and I thought that anti-Semitism was totally ridiculous. Now that I know tons of Jews I think anti-Semitism is even more ridiculous.

I do have some beefs though:
The orthodox Jews who are all over the place here won't even shake your hand let alone say hello to you. I got invited into an orthodox home on one occasion on Shabbat so I could operate their telephone for them, which is forbidden for them to do on Shabbat. I did it, because why the hell not. When I was done, you know, I smile, I'm friendly, they're just kind of staring at me like I'm some kind of alien. I get the message and leave. Not even a word of thanks. Now this is an entirely religious thing, and there are religious groups all over the world of every sort who act in similar ways. But it still bothers me. I think that if orthodox Jews in particular wanted to be more accepted by the wider society in which they live, it wouldn't be very hard, man. It just consists of, you know talking a little bit. Smiling at people on the street. Sheesh.

The other beef I have is the total delusional insanity of the Israeli lobby here and everywhere else. I've gotten in a fistfight with a Jewish dude because I compared Germany 's expansion in WW2 and Israel's subsequent expansion. I explained similarities like US backing, desire for lebensraum, militarized society, ethno-racial ideology. I dunno. It's just stupid. Israel's just a fucking country and it's fucked up if you think Israel is like actually the holy land for the chosen people, you know?

Other than that almost every single Jew I've ever met has been super friendly, usually well educated, fun to talk to, full of interesting ideas, and not a zionist.

It's impossible since most are self-contradictory.
