Erm, no?

No? Why not?

Because religion is not anarchist?

This again. So you propose that people should not be allowed to believe in god(s)? So much for freedom of thought.

To quote Bakunin, “A Boss in Heaven is the best excuse for a boss on earth, therefore If God did exist, he would have to be abolished”.

Even if God did exist, he does not affect this world. God merely pretends to have authority, much like the bourgeois. It's only in modern times that man can say no to this bullshit. Before now, you would merely be killed. Hell, you still might be killed if you say it to the wrong people. God is authority. Authority is the state. The state sucks!

Have you ever seen a miracle? Have you seen or even felt anything divine? I respect people to have religion, but your tone to us godless is driving me nuts. You're not going to convince us that God is Great, so why bother?

I am an Atheist because I live in a town that is so dominated by churches, it sickens me.

I am sick of Jehovah Witnesses knocking on my door at 7:00 AM.
I am sick of all these Christian posters that are constantly in my face wherever I go.
I am sick of my neighbors giving me bad looks because someone told them that I did not believe.
I am sick of all these Christian bookstores in my town.

It is my personal choice.

And as to quote Nietzsche, "A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."

I'm pretty sure that atheism (I'm starting to think maybe P.E.A.R.List/ism might be a better term) is the only logical rational position (Deism has an outside shot), but then again maybe satan has decieved me with his heathenous evidence

Atheism, deism and maybe pantheism are the only positions that are really rational.

Me, personally, I believe that if there is some higher power, it is some super-advanced civilization that has progressed to a point that they appear supernatural to us.

Gnosticism does also have something to it, if you want to go down that road.
There really is no argument for an all-powerful, benevolent god, looking at the world around us.

one thing that annoys me about the evangelicals is the way they preach, "believe and you will be saved". i can't choose to believe, so i am by default not saved unless i decide to lie to myself and others.

i believe in evolution, that life on earth was most likely seeded by the mass of bacteria in space, and that we will most likely leave this planet.

If I Were God

If I were God, I’d have created you, you miserable animal

If I were God, I’d know what was going on in your underdeveloped brain

If I were God, I’d laugh at your petty power of authority

If I were God, your shortcomings would make me laugh

If I were God, it wouldn’t interest me how pure you were

If I were God and you a delinquent in the making, I’d take an interest in you

If I were God, all your laws and social niceties would be meaningless to me

If I were God, I’d delight in watching you destroy yourself

If I were God, I wouldn’t listen to your self-serving prayers

If I were God, one genocidal act more or less wouldn’t mean the end of the world

If I were God, I’d know just how wretched you were in all your apparent greatness

If I were God, your life would be futile

If I were God, your death would be futile

If I were God, only my overall plan would count for anything

If I were God, only what I’d foreseen for humanity would count

If I were God, only the final reckoning after the death of humanity would count

And since I am God

I’m going to write your story
." It was all right to accept books from the students, but when they begin to teach you nonsense you must knock them down. They should be made to understand that the workers cause ought to be placed entirely in the hands of the workers themselves"http://www.mutualistde.webs.com

Technically I'm a self-dedicated Wiccan, but I don't identify as closely with that any more for 2 reasons:

1. I'm very interested in other beliefs including Gnosticism, Pantheism and maybe Buddhism.
2. Wicca was kinda ruined by new-agers.
