Panarchy

Postby Noa o `Anakia » Sun Feb 27, 2011 2:31 pm

I have been reading up on an ideology called panarchism which basically allows people to decide what type of government they want to live in, which economy, and all that other good stuff. COnsidering that there would be conflicting ideologies (land ownership, slavery), I have sort of thought of a new sort of panarchism which I sort of consider to be my own new ideology. Basically, there is no land ownership or government, but people may form free associations (yes, just like anarcho-communism) of people underwhich any government or economy can be created, but which will be respected only by those who choose to; i.e. someone could farm on the land of the private property of a community, but those in the community cannot since they choose to respect private property.
Thoughts about this?

1. Would this voluntary submission to government be a “one time deal”? i.e. can I opt out of “citizenship” at anytime?
2. In what way is this different from Hobbesian contractarianism?
3. When you say “someone could farm on the land of the private property of a community, but those in the community cannot since they choose to respect private property.”, do you mean that were some individual or group to claim some piece of land as their private property they would also be somehow bound not to enforce their claim to private ownership?

Quite honestly “panarchism”, as you describe it, doesn't seem to even qualify as an ideology - it doesn't seem to say anything.

And the turtles, of course...all turtles are free
As turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be."
