No, I'm declaring them to be right based on my own use of reason, evaluating their arguments. Please don't insult my intelligence.

Yes but when its pointed out that youve misinterpreted whats been said or are making blanket statements about something you've clearly just scratched the surface of you dont respond with anything more than stubborn denial.

Why would we want to do that?

i won't boycott you, ft. i wonder if he can hear me?

and i wondr if the flaw of this boycott is as apparent to everyone else. perhaps i'm misunderstanding; are we boycott by ignoring posts, or by using the ignore function?

Boycott by using the ignore function

I've stickied this now. So this is all buissness from this point on.

So far, we don't really have anybody. Once we do, I'll add their names and state the reasons why they have been *ahem* nominated.

can't help thinking we're avoiding the problems, rather than solving them.

Can you come up with a better solution? If so, that would be much appreciated.

I, for one, don't think either of these people are boycott worthy. But I was asked to put them up. If nothing comes of it soon, I will remove them both.

Howard509 is irritating for sure but he's not really doing any harm, Boycotting seems a little harsh

And off-topic: Zazaban can you sticky the links for newbies thread?

i think if someones' causing enough trouble that no-one wants them here, we should ban them. if the situation is less extreme, we should tolerate. ignoring people seems a very unsustainable sloution to these troubles.

If it gets to a unreasonable level, like CW, ban them. But there are some rational being who just get incredibly annoying and trollish, and may either change their ways or leave voluntarily if boycotted.

and how would we deal with those individuals in real life, with the use of an ignore button? with our powers of debate and reason.

The most commly proposed reactions to troublemakers in an anarchy, is ostracization. So, in cases where debate and reason aren't working, yes use the ignore button.
