Despite being denied a permit to march and rally on November 30, the International Day of Protest Against the WTO, the People's Assembly is still planning to march from the International District (4th and Jackson) at 11:00 AM. The People's Assembly has invited delegates from around the world whose countries are facing the devastating impacts of the World Trade Organization to particpate in the People's Assembly and join them in marching through Seattle to say "Junk Junk WTO".

International anti-WTO Rally Defies Permit Denial Gathers in International District
WHAT: Defying the decision made by the City of Seattle to grant a rally permit, delegates attending the International Seattle International People's Assembly will be joined by supporters and community members at Fourth in the International District before marching through Seattle to oppose the World Trade Organization Ministerial Meeting. The Seattle People's Assembly denied a permit to hold its rally and march on November 30, the International Day of Protest Against WTO.

WHO: Sponsored by the Seattle International People's Assembly which is bringing together representatives of people's organizations and movements from different parts of the world that have been directly impacted by the decisions of institutions like the World Trade Organization to expose the darkside of the free trade.
WHY: "The price of globalization is taking a deadly toll. Millions are losing their homes, their lands, their livelihoods and some their lives, while corporations and the elite continue to prosper off the sweat blood and lives of workers and peasants throughout the world, " said Ace Saturay, Chair Seattle Sentenaryo ng Bayan and Convenor of the People's Assembly. "The World Trade Organization is the latest tool of imperialist globalization, following in the bloody tracks of NAFTA and APEC. The People's Assembly is carrying the proud anti-imperialist tradition begun at the 1996 anti-APEC conference in Manila, he continued.
