Shaman's Song
By Stanley Diamond
From Culture and Creativity

I talk to flowers
My fingertips withstand
The glace of roses

What do you know of the bear
His body, my spirit
Rises everywhere
Seeing what the leafs see
And the clouds
Ambiguous as a woman
Drifting through stones

I have lain with the otter
Under white water
On beds softer than birds

What do you know of the fox
Bearing the message of death?
