A Call to Primitivism
By Kieran Thomson

Technology is usually seen as a good thing in our society. Technology, however, encourages classes and creates that proletariat / bourgeoisie split. It is
entirely responsible for almost every problem in the world today. Destroy technology, and you destroy civilization, and with civilization's destruction come the destruction of class-based society.

Technology is a capitalist dream. It breeds necessity. What starts as a luxury only the top nobility possess, eventually becomes a necessity for everyone, and creates a product with guaranteed sales. For Instance, cars started out as a novelty, with only the rich and eccentric owning them. Now everyone, even the poorest of the poor has no choice but to invest in an extremely costly transportation device. Are people happier now that they have cars? Of course they aren't. Misery is breeding in our society like rabbits on a spring day. Just look at the number of people on anti-depressants, or the number of suicides, or the
unknown numbers of people just hopelessly living their lives in misery. What's wrong with them? Why isn't all that technology making them happy? The reason is simple. Technology doesn't create happiness, despite its guarantees.

What does technology create if it doesn't create happiness? It creates division between the classes. It tears our planet apart. Marketing tells us ,?Buy this and
your life will be complete. This is the only thing you need, and you'll finally be happy. That simply isn't true. The more we buy the less happy we are. Then what is the solution? The solution is stop buying. Don't support it. Were people any less happy before computers, cars, or cell phones? Absolutely not. The
solution is to go back to living simply. It is the way we were meant to live. We were not meant to live at odds with the earth. We need to live in an earth friendly way, wild, eating food that doesn't destroy us, and for the first time, being truly human.
