Conscription is slavery

The South Korean police are investigating the "anti compulsory military service" website which some Korean anarchists launched in March. Typical mandatory military service in Korea runs 26 months for all able-bodied males.

It is against the law to argue for resistance to compulsory military service, because it "lures young people into avoiding their duty of defending the state". The Yonhap news agency reported on March 20th "The Cyber Crimes Squad of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency have started investigating three Web sites which advocate shirking military service".
