It was a fairly lively demo with old favourites from the water charges campaign dusted down and re-aired chants such as "axe the double tax or watch your vote collapse" and "corpo here us loud and clear we don't want your bin tax here.

Feed back from passers by and motorists was good with a lot indicating support. Speakers included Dermot Connolly (SP), Finian Mc Grath (independent councillor), John Jefferies (Workers Party), Ruth Copinger (SP who spoke for the Dun Laoghaire campaign - though I don't remember anyone in that campaign mandating her to do so - she actually lives in Mulhudart, miles from Dun Laoghaire), Dermot Sreenan (for the Liberties campaign) and a speaker from the SWP.

No Garda presence what so ever and we went away feeling reasonably happy that as a first public activity for the campaign in the Corpo area since the bills started arriving it had gone reasonably well.
